Start of the expedition

Today morning at 10 am was the official start of our expedition. Many reporters came to the town square of Uherské Hradiště to film and interview us. So today will be a lot of publicity in Czech television channels, radio and newspapers. Leaving the busy time from preparing behind us, we all look forward to the trip with good mood.
The next few days we'll travel by our cars to the Nordkapp. Our route will go through Poland, the Baltic States and Finland. In Helsinki we'll visit the AZUB dealer www.sahkopyora.net.

Preparation just before the start

Today is Thursday, we leave next Wednesday and still many things are not done. There are already three members of the team in Uhersky Brod (location of AZUB BIKE in Czech Republic) from where the expedition will start. Honza, Evina and Sjaak. The next people will arrive during the coming weekend and the last two on Monday.

The test night

Five of us met in Uhersky Brod (location of AZUB BIKE in Czech Republic) to test all the communication, changing riders on the bike, etc. etc. There were Evina, Karel, Martin, Jirka and Honza. We took one car and started from Uhersky Brod in direction south going around Breclav and Mikulov to Znojmo. There we turned and went back to Uhersky Brod.

Time is running

The time which is left till the start of the NG is shorter and shorter. Just now we have to solve many problems which vary from designing the team jerseys to choosing what kind of power bars we will use.

The last member of the team is known

Finally we have found the last member of the team: Karel Triska. He's from Czech Republic and very known among Czech recumbent fans. One of the first bikes from Azub was bought by him. He has already travelled many countries all around Europe, mostly alone. From recumbent meetings we know him a really nice guy and we think that he will be a very strong part of our team.
